I used three distinct driver configurations and also tested the game. It works in borderless mode, while GTA V runs in fullscreen.

If you're not aware of this, you might also explore the Nvidia control panel—Manage 3D Settings, Power management mode, and choose Adaptive or Prefer maximum performance.

He bought it used, specifically the SC2 version dual fan card. He swapped out the thermal pads and thermal compound, and everything worked fine. After replacing the case, he played without any issues. Now he’s considering putting his PC on a table—probably just out of ideas Sad(

It's really odd... Do you have any additional cards to try and test PUBG? This will help see if the crashes are due to the GPU or something else. I think it's probably a software issue, though. If it were hardware-related, the crashes would be more noticeable.
