The title clearly describes the situation. I searched for solutions but only found inactive Steam users sharing similar issues. I installed the game via Steam, watched the company logos and intro without skipping, and noticed the game stopped working on Windows 8.1 after a few attempts. I maxed out the specs initially before increasing them slightly to test. If you haven’t encountered this problem before or have any forum threads that help, I’d really appreciate it. Please don’t require admin privileges or compatibility mode—other fixes you’ve tried are enough.
Your PC specifications are being reviewed. Your profile indicates a 1GB GPU, which seems insufficient. I noticed you played Witcher 2 on a low-end laptop without issues, but it ran smoothly with a 2GB GPU. Edited November 29, 2014 by hmminteresting
I recently upgraded to a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X with 4GB RAM, providing ample raw performance for the game at 1080p. I’m also installing the newest beta Catalyst driver from AMD. I’ll update my specs immediately.
