Hello, I see you're experiencing performance dips in your gaming PC. It sounds like the frame rate fluctuates between 60 FPS and around 15 FPS, with thermal throttling not being the cause—your CPU stays at 29°C and GPU at 65-75°C, which is normal. The GPU throttles near 90°C during loading times, but you've already defragmented your drive and it's only about half full. Textures load slowly during these periods. Could there be another factor affecting performance? Thanks for sharing the details.

Using the same setup as your signature (though honestly that blue text is pretty hard to read on a dark theme...) this problem seems to occur in just one game or all games. It’s referred to as stuttering, which is the issue you’re facing. What version of your AMD drivers do you have? Are they current? You might want to check your HDD/SSD speeds via Task Manager while gaming; if the stuttering lines up with a big jump in disk activity, it could point to the cause. How’s your CPU utilization looking? Consider using MSI Afterburner, generate some graphs, and look for spikes—like CPU staying at 100% during frame drops.

It's actually the reverse—my CPU usage drops when it lags, while disk speeds stay fine. I’ll look into my GPU drivers and switch that blue setting for games like Forza Horizon 3, PUBG, and Xbox games.

This could indicate a problem; you're running the newest Windows Insider preview and should use fast ring non-skip ahead.

I’m not certain about this, but it seems like most people wouldn’t encounter this problem—only a small percentage would be affected if it were a special preview issue. Would it help to switch to another operating system from a different drive? That could quickly eliminate the possibility and let us focus on other troubleshooting steps.

In fact, after reconsidering, my laptop uses the same Windows 10 version as mine, which means it handles games reliably—just slower due to its laptop specifications.

This appears to be a problem unique to your GPU and probably not present on other systems.

Your laptop has its own graphics processor, but it might be smarter to wait for advice from someone with more experience before taking action.
