I dislike being the person who enjoys Minecraft but hasn't played it much lately. Yet I recall the reason! The game sometimes lags heavily on vanilla worlds, reaching up to 500fps, though it still stutters. Occasionally I hit around 60fps but the game keeps freezing. I mean stuttering, like a jerky movement every few seconds. I've added Optifine and it helped a lot, but it still freezes roughly every ten seconds, no matter the frame rate. This problem appears to be widespread—same issue on my previous PC and now on my current system. It seems the game isn't running smoothly in its original form. What a disappointment...

Specs: 4690K, 8GB Corsair Vengeance, 1866Mhz GTX 970 Maximus VII, Hero AX760i, Windows 10.
Am I the only one struggling?

Due to low frame rates under heavy load, Java applications often lag. Runescape experiences similar issues despite running smoothly at 50 FPS on powerful hardware.

I run on a 64-bit Java system with an extra storage device. The graphical enhancements work well, but there are brief performance drops when the game needs to display large spawns.

Did you observe your GPU activity during gameplay? Occasionally the software can't identify Minecraft properly and fails to allocate sufficient processing power. This seems like a reasonable assumption, though I'm not a specialist.

Navigate to edit your profile and delete "Xmn=128M" from the parameters. Keep the rest unchanged.

The game isn't optimized well and feels quite outdated.

Your GPU usage stays between 20-30%, which is typical for many games. Minecraft can be demanding on the CPU, so optimizing it might help ensure better utilization of your 970.
