The game disc isn't displaying.
I brought Batman Arkham Asylum and City for my PC since they were affordable on Amazon. The main issue was that it was a disc. After a few tries, I thought there might be a disk problem, so I tried using the same disc in my laptop—it worked. Then I tested another disc and another disc, but nothing resolved the issue. I’m trying to figure out a solution but haven’t succeeded yet. Thanks for reading!
The poster might still be valid even if tested on another machine. Certain spinning drives are more prone to damage from dust or scratches; cleaning with any cloth should be done carefully or simply blow gently on it. Using a paper towel—whether wet or dry—can actually worsen the issue instead of helping. It's crucial to use microfiber or similar materials exclusively for cleaning, avoiding towels or rough fabrics like shirts (which are about 99% of what seems acceptable). No matter how soft the cloth feels, the risk of tiny scratches remains. If alternatives are limited, a workaround could involve opening the drive in Windows Explorer, selecting the disc, and launching the installer directly from the disc. For Windows 8/8.1, you'll need to find the equivalent method since I’m unsure of the exact steps. Another point is that your drive might be faulty, low quality, or the case may have a code restricting downloads for certain platforms like Steam or Origin. This tends to happen more often with newer titles. As a last resort, consider it low priority.
Consider uploading the keys to Steam and downloading the game (provided your internet connection is solid). Or, you can connect your laptop's disc drive to the network and install the game from there.
