The idea of local multiplayer on PC was so obvious that I’d buy it right away. It made no sense to doubt the need for it.
The game eventually lost its appeal for me, but it could still be enjoyable if EA had kept more quality content beyond just DLC. Visually and audibly it met my expectations, though.
Has anyone considered the expense of building that game using today’s tools? It seems likely it would exceed even GTA’s budget... Firms trying to stay viable can’t pour all their resources into one title—it demands a large team of developers, animators, artists, plus PR staff and others...
The issue is clear—it would be incredibly expensive to create a game with deep mechanics and stunning visuals by current standards. Personally, I’d prioritize gameplay over graphics, but sadly that’s not the majority’s preference.
It's actually named Star Wars, but they clearly didn't plan for space battles. Great EA, refresh a series and bring in someone like DICE for solid vehicle combat. No need to charge $60 for 12 maps or another season pass. I’ll only pay if it’s worth it—around $30 max.
Examine their TV commercial—it clearly targets the audience EA is aiming for with Battlefront 3. The scene features someone working a mundane job, exhausted just to earn a paycheck, then spending a few hours playing the game at home to chase his dreams. This highlights that the game isn’t designed as a demanding multiplayer experience requiring deep time and skill mastery.
I understand it's a reboot, but there was already a large following for the originals. They've been waiting years for a sequel, and it would have been nice to see elements from the past games considered. I hope they included an instant action or conquest mode for single-player. It makes sense they'd want to bring something like "Battlefront" back, even in a different form.
If we focus on the details, the original didn’t include space battles, Kotor, The Force Unleashed, etc.—all are part of Star Wars. Now, in reality, I miss those space battles too, but I’m sure they’ll be added later, who knows? It’s pointless to grumble right now since there were plenty of unfinished elements in beta. I’ll wait and check the final version first. To be honest, until the prequel trilogy arrives with some of the best fights and more planets, I’m 99% unlikely to buy it.
