I know this update wasn’t developed by EA, and the present game is a complete overhaul. Still, it doesn’t matter. Edited October 20, 2015 by AresKrieger
You and numerous people overlook the core of the new Battlefront. It isn't Battlefront 3—it's DICE's reboot of the franchise.
I'm just thrilled someone created a game where vehicles are truly powerful because that reflects real life. I appreciate how proper strategy relies on air-to-air fights, then using the air as cover during attacks. That’s exactly how they’d operate in actual warfare. They focus on missions without ground support, which makes sense since it’s similar but with more challenges. I’m disappointed there’s no local multiplayer for PC, which would have let me grab it quickly and enjoy it with my dad. He’d have been fascinated (he became a Star Wars fan). Plus, my geeky engineer friends—my coworkers—would’ve loved it. Not to mention the absence of a campaign, even in the weaker titles like Battlefield 2. It really makes me question whether I should buy it.
You mentioned playing a game that seemed nice and easy to grasp. It reminded me of the Star Wars: Battlefront titles—fun and accessible!
My issue with EA is clear—if it's a core part of the game, shouldn't it stay out of the sequel or be removed entirely? This is similar to how Mass Effect handles it.
