For players of Resident Evil 4, after defeating the first Garrador—a character with wolf-like claws—you enter a courtyard filled with torches and water pools. Spending time here can cause your game to crash before you reach the staircase to the upper floor. This issue hasn’t occurred in my playthrough from the start. Additionally, there are no mods present in my directory, which keeps things clean.

It would be wise to test in windowed mode.

For a reason, after starting this morning to play it, all my saves disappeared. I believe it's time to stop dealing with Ubisoft's games and admit that Re4 isn't optimized for Windows 7 or newer.

You received it for Steam, not Uplay. It works perfectly on Windows 8.1.

Ubisoft's non-steam launch from 2007 is a notable title from that era.
