Hello! I've been wondering if game beta phases affect a company's sales once the official release happens. Let's look at Hardline as an example—it's another Battlefield title from EA, backed by AMD. It had strong sales and was a big AAA release. I usually get really excited about buying every Battlefield, but this time the initial "fun" didn't last. I ended up playing it for just a month or two before giving it away. Why? Was the game actually bad? No, it was so enjoyable that I bought a separate SSD just for it. The main reason was there were so many beta versions, and I tried all of them. Once the official launch came, it felt pretty dull... Next time, I might skip buying a Battlefield if there are just 2-3 week-long betas. What do you think about this? With so many beta cycles, do you think the game becomes boring at launch? I know some friends who played the beta and are big Battlefield fans, but they found it getting repetitive over time and decided not to buy it.

There are numerous beta versions since testing personnel are costly. Recording crashes is inexpensive.

Games should remain closed as much as possible, limited to a private beta with no more than 100 participants. Maintain silence until the official release announcement.

Sure, but once it hits the market, you end up with a more unexpected reaction because people don’t mention it and keep focusing on how great your products have been over the last few months, making them seem outdated when the release comes.

If the beta shows the games are just another copy, sales will likely suffer.

Only when the game is difficult (beyond simple issues) and not just minor bugs.

I'm confirming your observation. It seems some buyers claim enjoyment to rationalize their choices while overlooking clear issues.
