The front audio jack on a PC shows no sound when connected to a microphone.
I recently assembled a new PC and whenever I connect my headset to the front audio and microphone ports, I receive only static when speaking. Using just the audio jack works without any issues, but with the microphone it produces loud static. When I connect to the rear speaker jacks, everything functions perfectly and no static appears from the mic there. This situation is confusing. I've updated the drivers and installed the Nvidia software, but it didn't resolve the problem. Could anyone help me figure this out?
noticed several forums suggesting adjustments to the cabled setup. The straightforward solution was to control panel-sound-microphone-advance and then switch to a 2 channel 16 bit 192000 hz configuration.
I don’t understand the reasoning or method, but it definitely resolved the issue.
I hope this assists anyone facing similar problems.
Wow, really appreciate the help! This worked perfectly on my Windows 11 setup. The steps were clear: go to System -> Sound -> Properties for the microphone, then click on the Format option.
