Could using a friend's PSU help if your current one is too weak? For example, if someone’s PSU is 500W and you switch it to 300W, would that cause problems? Would it still allow the PC to boot at least to the desktop?
I wouldn't rely on a 300W unit to supply sufficient power. You might attempt disconnecting the GPU and observe if the reduced demand enables it to operate at full capacity, which would indicate the PSU is the issue.

I inquired about this because I wanted to understand whether the PC sends a signal through the display cable. If it doesn't send the signal, does that mean the monitor isn't receiving it?
