Hello everyone. I'm posting on behalf of a friend. Him and I have exhausted a lot of options to fix the issue ourselves, but we're stuck and we need help. Friend had his PC built, which worked for a solid 3 days before his nightmare started. PC specs: Ryzen 9 5950x MSI x570 gaming plus MSI RTX 3090 ti samsung 980 pro 2tb HX1200 watt 80 plus Platinum Corsair Vengeance 128GB DDR4 3600 The issue: His PC would stutter and slowdown randomly, along with audio crackling and super high DPC latency (up to 80K). Eventually it'll freeze then restart by itself. I hope this is okay to post, an unlisted youtube video from my friend showcasing his issue: Things we tried: Disabling HAGS. Formatting (clean windows installation). Disconnecting CASE front panel (which includes a type-c port, multiple USB ports and a 3.5mm jack audio jack. DISM online, sfc /scannow, chkdsk. Lowering GPU clock speed through MSI afterburner (it comes overclocked from MSI). Updating Bios to the latest version from the manufacturer's website. Disabling Serial Comms from bios to see if that helps with IRQs. Installing older gpu driver versions after a clean uninstall using DDU (This initially would work and let his PC be somewhat stable, then eventually it goes back to how it is in the video). Disabling HPET (High-Prescision Event Timer). Disabling High-Definition Audio Control in BIOS. Enabling ECC in nvidia control panel. Switching the PCI_E Gen to Gen 3 in BIOS. Setting PCI_E Gen to Gen 4 for the chipset. Making sure his GPU IRQs had MSI ticked on its interrupts instead of it being linebased using MSI utility. Sending his PC to a repair shop, the people there claimed the PC works fine and they ran a tomb raider game for 2 hours straight and said there were no problems. I say claim because my friend couldn't physically be there while the shop tested his PC as he had to study and they were fully scheduled for that day so they tested his PC the following day. Any and all replies are welcome. Please if you have an idea on why his PC behaves this way your advice is highly appreciated.

Recent chipset drivers from AMD have been installed instead of the previous versions from MSI. Was XMP enabled? Did you use Hard Disk Sentinel to check your disks?

It might have occurred after the latest update. After reinstalling your laptop, the issue appeared, especially affecting audio programs. Even when trying a different machine, the same problem persisted.

Chipset drivers came from the MSI website. XMP was disabled by default, and changing between on and off didn’t make a difference. For the HD Sentinel, focus on what’s listed in the documentation—it began acting oddly three days after installation. The biggest change came with the BIOS update, which was essential for CPU compatibility.

You've updated the AMD chipset drivers? That might have helped. For Hard Disk Sentinel, it explains the condition of your hard drive or SSD—check its details.

Hi there. My friend has the newest chipset drivers from MSI, which are a year ahead of AMD's versions. Should I suggest using the older AMD drivers? I’ll ask him to try them and install the hard disk sentinel, then test the SSDs. The PC is running slowly and freezing often. Here are the links I checked: MSI support page, AMD support page.

What are you referring to? AMD's newest driver was released on April 28th this year. https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/...t-am4/x570 driver version 5.02.19.2221 MSI's driver is significantly outdated, having been uploaded to their site months after its release.

I retrieved the chipset driver for the particular CPU model you mentioned—the version I provided is the most recent one available. I appreciate you sharing the link; I'll discuss it with my friend and follow up. Edit: It seems you meant February, unless you possess a time machine to travel back in time.

You're correct about that. Chipset drivers apply to the motherboard, not the CPU.
