I recently increased my RAM capacity, but performance didn't match expectations. I owned two 8GB Tryden Z RGB units advertised at 3200Mhz CL16, which worked well. When I purchased the same set for 32GB, I needed to run it at 2733Mhz for stability. I experimented with: boosting the SOC voltage, adjusting RAM voltage, testing individual kits, updating BIOS. Specifics: Ryzen 7 2700X, X370 Gaming Pro Carbon, MSI Gaming X Trio 2080 Ti, Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200MHz CL16-18-18-38 at 1.35V, 16GB (2x8GB). Thanks for any assistance.
Using fewer dims makes it tougher to hit the maximum speeds. Updating your BIOS might help with memory stability, though it doesn't ensure success.
I've already attempted to update the BIOS, but the issue remains since I keep seeing users running 3200+ on four dimensions using the same CPU.
You might consider trying alternatives, but sticking with 2733 seems feasible if it works for you.
I aim to achieve a 2933. dram voltage, then reduce it to 1.4 soc voltage and finally to 1.1
Adjust SOC voltage to 1.1 volts and RAM to 1.45 volts to test for improvement.
When manual voltage adjustment fails to reach 3200, you're likely limited to that value.
