I’ve recently converted an older desktop computer into a Linux machine and attempted to run Team Fortress 2 on it. When launching the game, I experience frame rates of approximately 300 in the main menus. However, during gameplay, my frames drop to 60, occasionally dipping into the 50s and even lower. It can reach peaks of 130 fps at times. Considering I’m relatively new to using Linux, I'm unsure if this fluctuating performance is typical or related to my operating system. Thank you all for your assistance!

You neglected to specify your power supply’s manufacturer and model, along with its age. Furthermore, you did not indicate which graphics drivers are currently installed. As of my last knowledge update, gaming support on Linux remains restricted.

Oh sorry, its a EVGA 600 watt 80 plus bronze psu. I guess its a couple of years old? But I used it on my other build (AMD ryzen 1600x with the gtx 1080) and it worked fine. I am using version 390 drivers.
