Following my review of the Intel Temperature Guide has alleviated my concerns; nevertheless, I now face another problem. During gameplay in titles such as The Witcher 3, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Civilization 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and generally across all games I engage with, I experience abrupt fluctuations in frame rates that resolve themselves within a second or two. This suggests a potential hardware malfunction or interference from the MSI Afterburner overlay. Disabling the overlay is difficult due to its display of essential information during gameplay. Should I activate Windows 10’s Game Mode? My system configuration includes Windows 10 version 1903 with Superfetch and Windows Update disabled through gpedit.msc, a GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB of VRAM, an i7-4790k processor running at 4.0 GHz without overclocking, games installed on a hard disk drive, 16GB of DDR3 RAM configured in dual channel, and I typically utilize low to mid graphics settings. Do you have any suggestions?

Overclocker MSI Afterburner has no discernible impact on frame rates. Identify any additional applications currently active. Game mode’s benefits are maximized when other programs are closed. Consider limiting your frame rate to a specific value, such as sixty frames per second; this can mitigate fluctuations.

Consider utilizing GeForce Experience to enhance your gaming performance. Furthermore, enabling vertical synchronization may yield beneficial results. Utilizing a solid-state drive would also likely prove advantageous.
