Hey, you're experiencing fluctuating FPS in the game—sometimes steady at 200, other times dropping to 80 after a reset. You've already checked many settings, so let's focus on isolating the CPU impact. Try adjusting these: XMP profile, Intel SpeedStep, and any other relevant CPU-related options.
You haven't given any details about the issue. Please clarify what you're experiencing—whether it's a game problem, system reset, hardware concern, or something else.
Up2date Windows fresh install, no software installed. Asus 690-e (latest BIOS) Gskills 32g @5000 xmp 980 pro 1tb RTX 3080ti (previously received a different model after RMA one month ago). HX 850 Power plan performs well on OS and Nvidia. Problem occurs sporadically. Ran memtest on XMP for 8 hours with no errors. Currently using default BIOS settings. Issue appears during Warzone playback. I notice it often happens after a reboot, especially when fan noise increases significantly—this usually indicates the problem will arise. Any suggestions? Edit: temperatures normal, no thermal throttling. Both times the computer restarted and StableFPS reported FPSDrop.
I'm experiencing inconsistent performance, sometimes achieving only half of what expected. Windows update seems to be working, but nothing installed. After another issue, all optional updates were applied. My setup includes an Asus 690-e (latest BIOS), Intel 12900ks, Gskills 32g @5600 xmp, Pro 1TB RTX 3080 Ti (previously received a different model after a month of RMA). I reinstalled NVIDIA drivers using DDU. The HX 850 Power plan is running smoothly on OS and GPU. Problems appear randomly, often after a reboot. When playing Warzone, FPS drops noticeably. It's usually noticeable when the GPU fan runs louder than usual. This suggests the issue occurs intermittently. I ran MemTest on XMP for eight hours with no errors. Temperatures are normal, no thermal throttling detected. The problem seems to surface during gameplay. In both cases, after rebooting, performance returns to normal. I've noticed the processor speed in group 0 is limited by system firmware, and it's been running at a reduced level for about 71 seconds since the last report. It happens across multiple cores. Also, the Intel Ethernet controller has lost connection.
When your computer slows down, consider using ThrottleStop 9.4.6. Adjust settings in the Options window to include Nvidia GPU details in the log. View the main ThrottleStop, TPL, and FIVR screenshots. If CPU performance is poor, check the Limit Reasons window for red indicators under CORE. Close HWiNFO during testing and ensure the Log File option is selected. Run a game for at least ten minutes, then exit both games and ThrottleStop to finalize the log. Save the resulting file to your ThrottleStop/Logs folder. Could this data point explain why your CPU isn’t reaching its full speed? Are you on Windows 11 or Windows 10?
Thank you for your response and guidance. I'm using Windows 11 (original). I've tested my PSU and graphics card on a friend's machine (still testing with Warzone), but the problem shouldn't occur now since it's easily reproduced in their setup after a few restarts. So far, I can't replicate the issue on his computer. Out of consideration for your time, I'll submit the report tomorrow! Note: I might try his CPU on my own system as a backup option.
