Hey everyone,
I recently purchased a second-hand PC:
It includes:
2x gtx 780 (SLI)
i5 4690k
16gb DD3 RAM.
My monitor is ultrawide 3440*1440 at 60hz.
My frame rate is okay (70) on medium/low settings, but my friend with a gaming laptop achieves 100fps+ on ultra settings.
Trying to overclock the GPU doesn't really boost the FPS.
I'm wondering if my CPU is limiting the GPU performance? What upgrades would be most beneficial?

because you're running at higher resolution only, upgrade your GPU. your CPU is okay. aim for at least an 1060 with 6GB RAM. complex splatter scenes will run much better after a GPU upgrade, especially in shooters.

Manu354 shared his experience with a second-hand PC:
It includes:
2x gtx 780 (SLI)
i5 4690k
16gb DD3 RAM.

Frame rate is okay at medium/low settings (70), but on ultra settings, a friend achieves 100fps+.
Overclocking the GPU doesn’t significantly boost FPS.
The main issue seems to be the GPU power for the resolution used.
