The gap between 144 and 280 isn’t significant, it’s just a marketing trick. Research shows minimal performance variation between 144, 240, and 280. The focus is on finishing returns—30-60 offers a clear edge, 60-120 is still noticeable but not extreme, and 120-240 rarely makes a difference. After all, your internet speed is the biggest factor, which determines the most impactful latency.
I improved about 80 frames per second after the upgrade, and I no longer experience those low FPS drops.
I didn’t think RAM would have such an impact. Thanks.
It varies based on individual sensitivity and familiarity. Personally, I can't maintain 60 fps anymore—it's too laggy and causes headaches. 120 fps works well, and 160 is even better, though the improvement is less noticeable at that speed.
60-120 there could be an argument, 120-240 you don’t really. It’s just how diminishing returns work. I’d also say the frame rate isn’t a problem because most of what you watch is at 24 to 60Hz, so watching anything would cause trouble.
I never experienced a problem with playing at 60fps for a long time until I adjusted my monitors, after which I was getting 150+ frames. Once used to this, it can be difficult to revert back. This issue seems to impact certain games more than others. FPS and driving games are the most affected, showing the biggest changes. Some people are more sensitive to these differences than others.
