The only reason I didn’t see the dock hidden automatically was when it was completely full, with no gaps between the edges.

At first switching to it was frustrating because I kept using full screen all the time. It felt similar to Chrome, and I wasn't sure if it used a lot of memory.

I've been using FF3 theme since FF4... still waiting that they update that theme. I've lost back/forward buttons which makes my UI look stupid, I can't remove menu button (which I don't need) and there's no way to move tab bar back under bookmark bar. Oh, and my addon bar is missing too, wtf...

It's the clumsy dock—it occupies a lot of space. Wish there was a way to keep your app links in the finder bar!

It seems to be about Chrome's capabilities and its current polish level. Mostly it revolves around Chrome's features and the absence of refinement... polish isn't a term here, but it's becoming one now. I'm pretty sure Firefox is open source or very close to it, which means it receives more focus and easier fixes. Like Chrome, you can report issues or memory usage problems, though you'll have to wait for Google's response.

It seems Firefox has a cleaner, more streamlined appearance.

It's fine, though I personally prefer the balanced appearance.
