I updated the SSD, set up Windows, and restarted it. However, when checking the old hard drive, I couldn’t locate any files—most are marked as corrupted with .chk files. When I rebooted the new SSD again, everything was restored. To view all your files normally on the SSD now, you may need to reinstall or repair the filesystem after a clean boot.

Understand how to navigate your files and choose the right paths. For user subfolders, assign permissions so a new user can access them easily. A simple method is to create a folder on C drive in your old system and relocate your files there instead of relying on standard directories like "my music."
