The available space on C Drive appears to fluctuate unexpectedly. Most files and programs are stored there, along with Windows data and media. These changes seem to happen when the computer starts up, such as from 2 GB to around 30 GB. I don’t know exactly what’s causing it, but I’m not sure if it’s a problem. It’s hard to track everything since there are so many items. I’m trying to stay calm and haven’t noticed any major issues yet.
I'm not familiar with ScratchDisk, but I suspect Adobe CC is the main culprit. It's possible other programs could be causing issues too. CC alone likely has a significant effect. Thanks for asking!
A scratchdisk is a temporary storage area for data while working with files. It’s not something that runs automatically but needs active use to fill up. Installing Adobe CC and not using it won’t cause this. Have you tried any content creation tools before?
It's not anymore. 6GB covers it, although I'd shoot for 8GB if possible. Use CPU-Z to check what kind of RAM you have (DDR/DDR2/DDR3/DDR4) and look for some used RAM on Craigslist/OfferUp/letgo. You should use Treesize Free to see what's taking up space. It's an amazing program.
Project files are saved locally on your device. The 4GB limit is small, so any data not in memory will be transferred to your external storage.
