Hey everyone, I just assembled a new PC using components recommended online. The build process went without any hiccups and the Windows setup went smoothly. The machine is running well—no freezes or crashes. So far, my only games have been Dota 2 and Overwatch, both performing nicely. The only oddities I’ve seen are: first, loading the BIOS takes a long time—about ten minutes—and second, there’s a strange black line effect when typing, especially in dark backgrounds (photos included).
Issue 1: After putting everything together, I had to enter BIOS. It took roughly two to three minutes. Even though I thought updating the BIOS would fix it, it now takes over ten minutes. I tried using the AORUS app and enabled certain options, but the delay persisted. I’m wondering if this is normal or if I made a mistake.
I followed the instructions in the AORUS app (X.M.P Profile1 Enabled, SAM Enabled) and waited for the BIOS to load. It usually took only seconds. Now it feels like a longer process. I’m still unsure whether I did something wrong.

Bonus update: Just now, something unexpected happened while writing this. I left the PC on for about fifteen minutes. When I returned, it was in standby mode. The GPU lights were off, but when I moved the mouse the screen lit up and the GPU lights came on too—though there were some lines all over the display. After a restart, everything returned to normal!

Are your SSDs functioning properly? Please verify their health using CrystalDiskInfo and run a test with CrystalDiskMark. Extended boot times during long BIOS sessions could indicate improper initialization. Consider checking the GPU and its VRAM for possible issues with OCCT. Avoid pushing settings too high, as OCCT may trigger overdraw and harm the drive. Setting VRAM usage to 95% is acceptable.

Here are some possible steps you could try:
- Start with "Intel Rapid Start" and turn off fast boot.
- Set CSM off in the BIOS while using one SSD at a time, one RAM module at a time, in different slots.
- Swap components with another compatible PC if available.
- Consider reverting to the F5 BIOS to speed up troubleshooting.
Also note you can refresh BIOS settings by connecting the clr_rtc jumper switches
Hi, ok so i finally found the time to work on it a bit. Turned on the PC-> DEL key, waiting time to load BIOS was about 10 min. as usual! I thought i will start with the SSD's Removed the 1 SSD M.2 (D:/) that was installed on the second M.2 slot and left only 1 SSD M.2 (Windows OS) on the first M.2 slot. Turned on the PC, BIOS loading time was about 2 min. Installed the previously removed SSD to the third M.2 slot Turned on PC, BIOS loading time was about 2min. I thought that is interesting....pretty much i was ready to call the SSD defective or the slot on the motherboard. Removed the SSD from the third M.2 slot and i installed it again to the second M.2 slot Turned on PC, BIOS loading time was a few seconds!!!!!!! How is this possible i simply do not get it kinda funny..... but loading BIOS time is fixed!

I’ve been thinking about you again. My initial thought was perhaps the second M.2 SSD wasn’t installed properly, or the connection wasn’t strong enough, or there was some dust interfering. That would mean the pins in the SSD slot and motherboard weren’t making full contact, which could explain the problem. It seems a bit unlikely given how tight the space is between the SSD and the slot, but that was my reasoning. In the meantime, I haven’t figured out why the black lines appear on dark background files like unknown_2023.06.05-13.56.mp4.
