I purchased Assassin's Creed Rogue three days ago on Steam. At the time of buying, I played it for about 20 minutes without any issues. The following day I tried to launch the game again, but it wouldn't open and displayed an error saying ACC.exe won't work. I looked at some tutorials, though they were marked as outdated since the game was released in 2014. If anyone has a solution to this problem, I'd really appreciate your help.

I've encountered problems with AC games after turning on the afterburner. A black screen appears with a white block in the top-left corner. If this fixes it, you can restart the afterburner once the AC is running.

You could have antivirus software or other unnecessary programs deleting files or altering them. Consider checking that out. Or possibly genuine malware.
