It seems there was a minor incident (not an outrage).
The review history matches the information about the launcher—both dated January 22nd, though Steam didn’t translate the date correctly into the UI, inheriting the OS date.
Currently, the negative feedback has settled. I’m not suggesting any significant changes to the review scores, just no strong interest in digging deeper.

Most of the recent positive feedback seems to come from automated sources or multiple fake accounts. None demonstrate significant engagement time. Their names are brief, reviews consist of single words or letters. These reports have been filed with Steam. If Paradox engaged in this behavior, it violates the Steam Terms of Service and could lead to immediate removal from the platform. They treat review manipulation seriously.

Try to remain balanced in your perspective. It seems you’re concentrating heavily on your own viewpoint, overlooking the information I shared and focusing only on the negative aspects.
Ignore the favorable feedback and look at the trend of the negative comments.
Here’s a clearer picture: there are currently 7 negative reviews as of today. The numbers have remained relatively steady since the start of this month.
It’s unclear how these reviews are affecting them, though. Perhaps their actions were misguided, causing some players to be impacted negatively. Maybe they’ve been attempting to sidestep responsibility. But is this significant? The data clearly contradicts that idea. Even if positive reviews were much fewer, it would simply indicate a drop in overall interest in the game, which is the ultimate consequence.

I often watch this Cities YouTuber, and they're still playing the game. There hasn't been any announcement since then. They had a Q&A session, but it didn't get addressed.
I started playing the game on Monday. I was asked to log in, but the dialogue could be skipped and the game ran without it. I encountered some issues with assets, though I think the main problem is that I haven't played the game in a year rather than mods being blocked unless you use a Paradox account. Loading the new game took a while, but it wasn't faster before.
