Windows 10 Pro
Hello. For roughly three days I've been unable to make video/audio calls on Facebook or Messenger apps. When I call, it rings the other end and they answer, but I see a black screen—my camera and microphone are active, yet nothing happens. Occasionally the ringing is heard, sometimes not. Neither I nor the other party can see or hear me, and vice versa. This issue also occurs on the corresponding web pages.

I completely removed and reinstalled both Facebook and Messenger apps, but the problem persists. Video/audio calls work perfectly with Skype and WhatsApp.

I turned off Adguard and Avast AV, then tried Brave and Edge browsers, but it didn't help.
I'm really stuck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Helpster, permission is given for the camera and microphone, though it hasn't worked.

It seems Adguard was the issue. I’m certain I turned it off but couldn’t succeed, so I tried again and it worked. Your advice was really helpful, thanks a lot, helpstar!

And I will inquire about the other side.
Are there multiple contacts involved, or just a single one?
I’m not expecting a straightforward personal answer.
Just curious—what actions have they taken, attempted, or avoided?
Check Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for error codes, warnings, or logs when Facebook and Messenger fail.
See if any differences exist compared to when Skype and WhatsApp work.
It might be a background app or something triggered by Task Scheduler during the launch of Facebook and Messenger.
