Tried exchanging the original wires from the PSU, it works and it’s still booting up, but I’m worried about my motherboard. I’m not sure if it’s safe to use it this way. I didn’t check everything properly. When it boots, I turn it off again and think about getting a new PSU before the replacement arrives so I can test it. I’m also not confident that RAM, CPU, and other components will still function correctly.

It didn’t shut down, so I unplugged the PC due to the odor. Once it was off, I traced the burn smell. There, I discovered the cable that had burned. The burnt part was noticeable because the wire was white and the PSU to motherboard pins showed signs of melting.

Hello. Others have had similar experiences. I recently discarded a 4 pin CPU sleeve from Asiahorse for the same reason. It has been consistently warm since installation, but stayed tolerable until I pushed my CPU to overclock. That moment I noticed a strong plastic odor. When I handled the sleeve, it was so hot my fingers slipped off it. I took it out and connected the PSU using the original ASUS cable. These accessories are very affordable. I’m not sure they sacrifice quality, but they seem to cut corners. A lesson here: always test these items when you first install them, especially under stress. If they feel excessively hot, replace them before they damage your system. There might be another factor at play, though—I’m not an expert, but some suggest matching cable gauges for better stability. These extensions could very well be contributing to the issue.
