Today I made the first attempt to overclock my GPU and noticed something unusual—my idle temperatures stay around 62°C. That seems a bit high, right? Below is a screenshot of my current overclock setup and my status during idle. If my readings are accurate, under load they’re about 70-75°C in Unigine Valley. I’m wondering if these temperatures are normal or if they’re too high.

The idle temperatures rise to 62°C due to an application utilizing the GPU or sustained high clock speeds. Load temperatures remain acceptable.

Suztera:
Your idle temperatures rise to 62C due to an application utilizing the GPU or keeping the clocks elevated. Load temperatures remain normal. Currently, only four programs are running: Google Chrome with one tab, Steam, CPUID HWMonitor, and EVGA Precision.

Normal conditions are fine, though it would be quite warm—around 83c+—which isn't excessively high. Your fans seem to be running correctly during idle, and the temperature should stay around the 40s.

I think some websites, Chrome, and Steam may use your GPU.

GetMyVengeance :
Normal. Too hot would be like 83c+ even then that isn't too high just a bit above what it should be. With your idle, are your fans running correctly? If not, that could be the reason, though the idle temperature should stay in the 40s.
Right now, your fans are spinning around 190-205 RPM with a 62C idle.

I might consider turning off hardware acceleration in Chrome.

Did you adjust the power settings in the Nvidia Control Panel accidentally? What is your GPU core speed when it's not running? Have you turned on K-boost in EVGA Precision X?
