I experienced a very hot chip reaching up to 105°C at 300W and had some instability issues. Earlier advice suggested undervolting the chip, which I tried by lowering its voltage from 1.5V to 1.3V. This reduced power consumption to around 215W. Now the problem is that the chip operates at a high frequency—about 5.8 GHz for roughly two seconds—then drops to 1.5 GHz. What went wrong and how can I resolve it?

Have you lowered your RAM back to its default setting as well? Also, avoid applying large undervolts starting from 0.2 volts right away. The same applies to overclocking. A small adjustment first, then verify stability—such as running a benchmark—before proceeding. Not everything should be done at once. This advice is based on my own experience; I haven’t looked into your specific case, so please trust my signature.

That’s a 13999KSS model. It looks like you might have overshot the voltage settings, causing the processor to struggle with timing. For cooling, anything above 250W needs to stay under 100°C unless using liquid nitrogen.

It's an i5-13600K processor running at 300 watts with a clock speed of 5.7 GHz.

Probably had to clear a lot of mucus from there, around 13,600k. Also, using a tower air cooler helped.

Returning to the original voltages is next. Let me know when you're ready.

What just triggered the auto setting? It brings it around 1.5, with a little fluctuation. I've noticed it jumping up to 1.7 before.

maybe reading below 1.2 volts, possibly around 1.3—auto readings don’t always reflect actual voltage, could be an auto detection or other issue.
