This morning I started my PC. To my surprise it stopped identifying my Ethernet link. I tested everything—turning it off or on, swapping the cable, and even rolling back the update. The last step was especially frustrating because Windows reinstalled the newest update without the network working. Please assist!

DHCP automatically gives your computer an IP address. When this feature is disabled (occasionally occurs), you lose the address and can't connect. I experienced this once, but it resolved immediately. (DHCP is typical on most network equipment)

Open Device Manager, locate network adapters, select Ethernet, right-click then uninstall, verify driver removal, and restart the computer.
