Start with the basic solution. Consider switching to a different cable. A cat 6 or cat 6a cable is usually the reason for problems.

when you approach the Hitron device using your laptop, connecting via a 10m LAN cable provides optimal performance. however, a 300 foot cable is excessive; consider using a PoE extender like the one listed or a budget GB switch in between.
