During heavy network usage, Ethernet tends to drop briefly—sometimes a bit more or less. My Netgear NightHawk R6700 AC1750 isn’t connected via a switch, yet the cable end lights up on another device. On my laptop it doesn’t work the same way. The router shows a connection but flashes off when someone is gaming. Could this indicate a problem with the device? My Wi-Fi functions properly.

First, I'd switch to another cable and port on the router (and the PC if it has an additional port).
