The Ethernet connection failed after installing the old SSD in your new PC.
I built a PC a week ago and put in a new SSD, then installed Windows 11 normally. Yesterday I was trying to transfer my Minecraft worlds by installing the old Dell SSD into my new computer. I turned it back on and it said "Something happened and your PIN isn't available", so I removed the older Dell SSD thinking it would go away, but it didn't, so I followed a guide and went into the recovery menu, and tried almost every option but none worked, even contacting Microsoft Support. Now I formatted the new SSD (it didn't contain that much) and tried to install Windows again but I can only get so far as the "Let's get you connected" page. I tried installing the Ethernet driver from a flash drive but only empty folders appeared on the window with the flash drive. I then opened command prompt and tried to install it by running file explorer but it said "Realtek Network Controller not found. If deep sleep mode enabled please plug the cable." I have no idea what to do now, and I don't understand how I was able to connect to the internet on the first install but not on the second install. I should also mention I tried transferring the files on the SSD to the HDD with Linux, and WiFi worked on Linux but Ethernet did not. My PC specs are: Asus Prime B650M-A AXII AMD Ryzen 5 9600X Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX7600 XT 16GB Crucial T500 1TB SSD I don't know if this is a well written post, I just need help
Welcome to the forums! That says to me that the mobo is toast. Probably will need an RMA One thing to try would be to Bypass OOBE network requirement Another thing would be updating BIOS Finally try pulling the whole thing out of the case and running it on a box. Might be a short to the case somewhere
If the item is still within the store return period, choose that option. If not, proceed with an RMA. That scenario seems very unlikely.
I'll attempt to resolve the issue then send you the updated version. It falls within the return window as well.
I skipped the internet configuration and got the WiFi driver but still couldn’t connect via Ethernet. I’ll return it now. Appreciate your assistance! Regarding the old Dell SSD, it likely disrupted the Ethernet connection, reset the PIN, and forced me to spend a lot of time on Microsoft support.
