I also have another laptop connected to the same router with two different cables. One of them is the one I'm trying to install in the desktop, and it's functioning perfectly. The other cable worked well on the laptop as well. It seems there might not be an issue with the setup itself.

Yes, you turned off the Wi-Fi during the testing on the laptop.

I’m feeling really discouraged, but I managed to get the router back. I just connected the dummy one from my ISP and it worked instantly—my Ethernet was detected right away.
