Hello everyone, my 5800x is running smoothly on an Asus ROG Strix B550-I, reaching up to 4.8Ghz and performing well overall. However, it doesn’t lower its speed below 3.6Ghz when idle. I can try adjusting the Windows max power settings, but setting min to 5% and max to 100% doesn’t seem to help. My previous gaming PC (Core I7) would drop to around 0.8Ghz at idle. The open hardware monitor shows the CPU as idle with less than 1% load, and I’ve experimented with changing processor speeds in Windows to see if it improves things. Are there any BISO performance settings I should check that could be affecting this? I’m not aiming for overclocking.
Third-party programs often misstate idle clock speeds, particularly with Ryzen processors. Use Ryzen Master for accurate info.
