Are there similar Elder Scrolls-style or cooperative RPGs outside of MMOs? My husband and I have been searching for enjoyable options for some time now, but the choices available feel quite limited. We’ve already tried Elder Scrolls Online before, especially during the weekend, but it didn’t meet our expectations. It wasn’t a fun experience to play together, and now we’re really wanting to explore more cooperative cRPG experiences. I don’t follow gaming news closely, so I often miss updates and new games. I thought this community might be a better source of information.

It seems like the author is suggesting that Bethesda could enhance Skyrim by adding another player to the game. Meanwhile, they're also starting to play Divinity: Original Sin 2, which they describe as a well-optimized cooperative experience.

It's a multiplayer mod for Skyrim. I haven't used it myself, but others have made a lot of changes lately.

The only game that comes to mind similar to this is Divinity Original Sin 2. However, it is a top-down style RPG.

The final Lord of the Rings game was a cooperative war in the north, offering an excellent cooperative RPG experience.
