This is absolute gold, 249k downvotes. Maybe this time someone at EA will listen? Oh, wait... Incase anyone was wondering, the record holder for most downvotes ever was 24k and the guy literally asked to be downvoted.

Usual. I don’t mind where things come from; I’ve never had problems with it (except maybe Steam). But EA’s recent microtransaction games are... deteriorating. First SimCity, a single-player title... required a stable internet connection. GG. Then BF1 isn’t getting updates anymore... it’s really dull. Payback multiplayer isn’t open roam either; the deluxe edition gives you more XP/Money or something similar isn’t the goal of a game to waste time on? Not to rush through it... lol EA, we appreciate the games you release, but let those creators run their vision without prioritizing profits first. Eventually it’ll turn into something like CoD, a reputation so bad it never clears. EA, get off your heels.

In the end, EA receives what it deserves. This micro-transaction practice has persisted for too long.

It's a real letdown since the game seemed promising but was overshadowed by the lootbox issues.

Close to 300k is reached, and I’m aiming for more attention from the press. Highlighting these situations could really make a difference.

They’ll finish it once they’ve tried it already

So after 24 hours and events unfolded, it looks like they compromised. With the post nearing a million downvotes, it’s clear why. Still, I think it’s obvious now—especially since this was their expected approach all along. If I had to guess, they either pushed things harder or waited for the outrage train until it turned into newsworthy headlines so they could make a quick change. No such thing as bad publicity, right? It feels real. Either way, this brought more attention to lootboxes, which is definitely not a bad topic. They’re annoying, harmful, and a scam. And it seems they also fuel that kind of empty, exaggerated talking.
