The Drives feature is not working correctly.
This function is intended to operate every week and should boost priority when deadlines are overlooked. But it indicates the last update was 24 days prior, meaning it missed three appointments and never adjusted the drive (still running trim because of the SSD). Control Panel -> System -> Storage -> Optimize Drives
It performs trimming while the drive is not in use and handles memory management on its own. You don’t need to intervene for it to function properly.
Standard hard drives are available, but SSD-based setups aren't required.
Sometimes tweaking or cleaning up an SSD can boost performance. This mainly helps with poor drives like certain GoodRam CX models that suffer from data loss (such as older Samsung 840 EVO units lacking firmware updates). Most issues with data problems are incorrectly blamed on the system, leading people to reinstall and then it seems to fix itself—because new data was written again. I tested this by creating a system image of a slow-loading machine after months of degradation. After formatting the SSD and restoring the same setup, everything ran 2–3 times faster, including load times. I believe many make the mistake of reinstalling too often, which reassures manufacturers selling low-quality drives.
