Hello everyone, I’d appreciate your feedback on my old computer. I’ll share the specifications at the end. It functioned perfectly until last week, then it started showing a blank screen with no stripes. When I pressed F2 to continue, it worked fine. At some point, while playing GTA V, the computer would shut down and wouldn’t boot again. I thought everything was receiving power but the monitor didn’t display anything—no burnt smell detected. I tried resetting the BIOS by short-circuiting two pins on the motherboard, but it didn’t help. After letting it cool for a week, I got a screen with stripes. Then I accessed the BIOS menu via F1 and selected eco mode, which reset it. However, it redirected me to the Windows repair screen, which failed to fix the issue. I asked if I wanted to reboot, and it returned to the same problem—no display at all. My initial assumption was a faulty GPU, but I’m open to other ideas.

What could be causing this issue? My first guess is a damaged GPU, but what do you think?

My PC specs: Sapphire R9 280X Dual-X OC Gddr5 3GB RAM (384-bit), AMD MSI 970A-G43, AMD FX-6300, 4x2GB RAM. It doesn’t recognize the brand.

This appears to be a problem with the display cable or screen. GPU VRAM concerns typically don’t surface in this manner.

I question this since a broken cable or screen shouldn't trigger a PC crash. Likewise, intermittent problems from a cable or display seem unlikely.

Your system's RAM appears to be malfunctioning. Consider running memtest86+ to verify the issue.

So far, I tried changing the monitor, and its cable but no response. I do not have any boot screen still I tried my chance with memtes86+ but since there's just a black screen my hands are tied. Thank you for the suggestions, if I will find decent rams ill try or I'll buy a new one to try it out. If you have any other suggestions that I can try please do comment.

It looks like your GPU has failed. If there is onboard Video, remove the GPU and try that, if not, replace the GPU.
