Hi everyone, I’m having issues with my Mac Mini M1 and Dell S2817Q. It keeps flickering, especially when using websites or apps with gray colors. Even the Apple recovery partition and setup cause it to flicker. I’ve noticed many similar problems online, but I’m confused—should I assume the Mac Mini is faulty? My monitor works perfectly with my MBP 2016. I’m packing it up for a return to Apple unless you can help me troubleshoot. Here’s a video of what I’m experiencing; thank you for your support!

Hi, I'm checking if you've discovered a fix. Right now I still face the same problem. The strange part is that whenever I move the cursor, the flickering stops. Also, many colors turn to gray and those are the only ones changing. Appreciate your help!

Screen backlight layer appears damaged. Consider returning it or finding a repair service for TVs and monitors.

I face the same problem with two screens next to each other, making it unlikely both failed simultaneously. For instance, certain gray and grayish shades change, like #3f3f3f, which might vary based on the setup. The standard color picker shows no shift in hue, but the chosen shade also fluctuates inside the app. Devices involved include Mac Mini 2018 with macOS Ventura 13.3, two DELL UltraSharp 24" U2419H monitors connected via USB-C to DisplayPort cables from different brands. No issues occurred on a Mac Mini 2012 using macOS Catalina over HDMI cables. RESOLVED: The built-in Dell display settings had ComfortView color preset enabled. Changing it to Standard resolved the issue.
