Hey everyone, I recently purchased a used PC and upgraded the CPU from Ryzen 3600 to 5700X. I also added an AIO cooler since the stock one wasn’t enough. During a LoL session, I noticed my CPU hit 95°C and throttled, which made me think it might be connected. However, that situation seems to have resolved itself. I’ve tried several fixes: reinstalling Windows, updating drivers, swapping the DP cable and GPU slots, undervolting the GPU, and limiting the MHz to avoid spikes. I also checked for logs but didn’t find any in Event Viewer. The problem appears intermittent—sometimes during gameplay, sometimes while watching videos. It can happen 1-2 times a day or even during idle, and I’ve played games like BF6 for 3-4 hours without issues. I tried a donut of death test for 30 minutes with no artifacts or problems. If it’s hardware-related, logs should be present. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How's your fan setup looking? It's possible you're restricting the system somehow, even during idle. Try running your PC for a few hours and observe if temperatures stabilize naturally. It's unusual for fans to behave unpredictably during gameplay, so it might be normal. One thing that comes to mind is a faulty temperature sensor on the motherboard, which could cause inaccurate readings and reduce fan speed. To verify, boot into BIOS, leave the PC idle, and monitor temperatures to see if anomalies appear.

Hi, I think I misunderstood. From what I read, the problem seems to be with the card temperature staying under 80°C during heavy use, and the CPU works better with the new cooler. The overheating only appeared on the CPU when using the original cooler. The monitor just stopped responding during my replies, usually when I was on light tasks like watching videos or replying.

Even when the CPU limits performance, the monitor should still function. Verify if fast boot is turned on or off in BIOS. Ensure it matches the setting in Windows. This feature is known as fast startup. You can find it under: Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Power Options → System Settings. If you experience crashes with Adrenaline, make sure the settings are consistent. I encountered this issue after installing my 7900 XT.

I understand the issue isn't related to the CPU. The system booted quickly in Windows and then shut down in BIOS, so I disabled it as well. I've observed that after the boot screen, the monitor disconnects briefly before Windows loads, appearing as if an app is open. It seems to snap into the top-left corner like changing resolution settings. I'll check if it disconnects again after alignment instructions and will update you with my findings. Thank you!

For all series with 5000 CPUs, I disable PBO in the BIOS settings. It causes the processor to overheat despite minimal performance improvements. PBO wasn’t turned on by default a few years ago, so any recent BIOS changes could be the cause. Hope this helps!

The quick startup didn't fix the problem, it just happened again. Also PBO is now turned off.

It looks like the discussion was about the Premium Sync Pro monitor. After half a month of troubleshooting, I disabled all V-Sync settings in both AMD Radeon and the monitor controls, and it seems to be working well so far.
