Hello everyone,

I recently installed a new GPU driver and BIOS update, but now my screen goes black after approximately 5 to 10 minutes while gaming. My computer fans continue spinning, the keyboard lights dim, and there’s no functionality. The GPU temperature remains between 60 to 65 degrees Celsius.

I attempted to resolve the problem by removing the prior driver using DDU and then installing the newest version. I believed this might be related to the issue.

It’s important to note that my computer was operating perfectly before these updates were implemented.

Here are my PC specifications:

AMD Ryzen 1700x
Nvidia GTX 1070
Asus Strix B450 F motherboard
8 GB of RAM

Could you please advise on what might be causing this problem?

Initially, problems with black screens during gaming were linked to the graphics card drivers. I resolved this by reinstalling them, which then stopped the issue. Subsequently, my computer began experiencing random crashes and restarts while gaming, and I was unable to determine the cause. Consequently, I meticulously cleaned my system, relocated my RAM modules, and this resolved the crashes entirely. It appears that the memory was the root cause of these problems, and my PC has been stable since.

I recently updated the graphics card driver via Nvidia GeForce Experience, and thankfully, the persistent black screen issue has not returned. I plan to continue playing various games for several hours to monitor its recurrence.

Recently, I’ve encountered a different problem: my computer spontaneously shuts down and restarts during gameplay. Strangely, it goes through a cycle of complete shutdowns followed by immediate restarts, and then eventually resumes normal operation.

Subsequently, my computer began to unexpectedly crash and reboot while gaming, and I was unable to determine the cause. Therefore, I completely cleaned my system, relocated my RAM modules, and this resolved the problem. I suspected that the RAM was the source of the instability. Since then, my PC has remained stable without any crashes.

Have you recently updated your memory slot configuration? I’m experiencing a somewhat similar issue.
