the difference in color between 4k and "cinema 4k" for gaming on TV remains the same
I recently connected my rig (i7, 1080 Ti) to my Samsung UE55RU8000 TV through HDMI. The TV supports both 3840x2160 and 4096x2160 resolutions. But when I switch between them without changing anything else, I notice a noticeable change in color and contrast. Example pic 1 Example pic 2 You’ll see the richer, more vivid colors and better contrast in the 4096x2160 setting compared to 3840x2160 (HDR not enabled in either case), especially during gaming. This is really frustrating! How can I achieve the same quality in the lower resolution? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
When accessing your TV settings, you'll find various image options that control colour saturation and similar features. It seems the 'Cinema' mode automatically uses a distinct profile, which remains accessible even in standard 4K resolution—specifically, it's labeled as the Vivid colour mode on my Philips TV.
The 'Cinema' settings on my Samsung (Q80T) TV also seem to be warmer. It's probably the same issue, though it's hard to tell since I'm viewing it on a TN laptop display.
It doesn't seem to be related. I also tried adjusting things yesterday, but it didn't work. Could it be connected to back levels?
