AMD 9590fx Gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 r5 1050 ti 850 watt psu 1 500gb ssd will stay on and run in BIOS forever. As soon as I enter my Windows key to install it, the system shuts down and restarts itself. I just removed this PSU from my 2700x build for my sister because I have a new one coming tomorrow. I think it should work fine, but it’s making a strange whining sound that I haven’t heard before.

I was caught up in something else and now I’ve purchased a 700-watt thermaltake for the 9590 setup and a Corsair 850-watt unit for my upcoming 2080/2700x build. Both seem to be from around 2 or 3 years ago, yet they’re both showing 12V output. The 6V rails are present, but one isn’t working at all. Fan lights are flickering due to power draw, so I’m avoiding both and just got the new ones. The old gear was a Seasonic SS-620gm PCF3 and an Ad-e850AE-A5. The new ones are a Thermaltake Thermaltake Smart 700W, 80+ White Certified PSU with ultra-quiet 120mm fan and ATX 12V V2.3/EPS 12V Active PFC power supply (model PS-SPD-0700NPCWUS-W). I also found Corsair RM850x, 850W, 80+ Gold Certified, fully modular (link).

The system is controlled by seasonic, but even with a "seasonic" cable it doesn't work with SSDs—it just fails to power them. I replaced one and another failed immediately, so I did some HDD testing because I didn’t want to waste another SSD. This has been a really frustrating day...
