It's mostly just a small issue, but it bothers me a lot.

I'm currently using a HyperX Cloud III Headset from my motherboard's USB-C port.
In-game sound quality appears normal after updating the audio drivers on the motherboard (which was another attempt to fix occasional audio pops, usually only during certain sounds, but they're mostly resolved now). However, it came with Asus Sonic Suite, which I experimented with briefly before resetting everything and uninstalling it.
Now, whenever I initiate a Discord call with a friend, I experience a loud "click" about half a second into the music. It's not a major problem, but after going through several attempts to eliminate audio pops, it still occurs occasionally... I'm starting to feel frustrated.
Stalker II sometimes produces a subtle pop when transitioning between areas in underground zones and a few other specific situations, and others have reported similar issues.
RDR2 has had complaints about occasional "pop" sounds for years.
Today I started playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and so far, no audio pops or crackles have appeared, which is great.
My main concern is getting rid of these pops completely. I have a decent motherboard (with shielded Realtek controller, Nicom audio capacitors, etc.), and I'm running HyperX Cloud III units with built-in DACs. I have ample CPU and RAM, so nothing should be preventing things. I'm beginning to question whether I should just tolerate occasional pops in certain audio contexts or try to avoid them altogether.
