The device isn't powering up.
When I power up the PC, the mousepad glow appears, along with the fan, motherboard indicator, and case light (MOLEX). It functioned properly before, but during a bench test it stopped working and no output was shown, even though those lights were active. Specs: R5 2600, MSI450 motherboard, max motor power, 16 GB RAM, 1660 Super, 480GB NVMe SSD.
No, you didn't perform a BIOS reset while the device was active. Did you have your manual handy?
Yes. Shut down the computer. Unplug it from the power source. Remove the small battery from the motherboard. Keep the power switch pressed for a moment. Reinsert the battery. Reconnect the PC to the wall. Restart it. Your BIOS will refresh and you should likely land in the main settings screen on the first launch.
I don’t see the battery connected to the motherboard, though I have access to a BIOS reset option.
The most unusual thing is that the lights on my mouse and keyboard aren't activating
Review the motherboard documentation and consider utilizing the reset feature instead. You might need to press them firmly to refresh the BIOS or similar settings. It’s helpful to understand what the reset button actually does. This issue could stem from your motherboard itself, or possibly from your power supply unit, though it’s difficult to pinpoint. I recommend inspecting all connections thoroughly, possibly reattaching components and testing various RAM setups. What PSU are you currently using?
