Hey, a few days back I faced a typical problem with my harddisk emitting the click of death sound. Shortly after, I encountered a blue screen, though the computer remained operational and the display stayed visible.
I attempted to diagnose the problem by inspecting my cabinet (M3400), which is now over eight years old.
The harddisk was causing significant issues, producing loud clicks and clacks—clearly a sign the machine was struggling.
Despite these challenges, I managed to resolve it a few months prior.
I’ve kept the system well-maintained. Recently, a few days ago, it stopped showing any display. I tried removing the RAM, changing the slots, and even replacing the CMOS battery twice, but still couldn’t get the screen back on.
The computer is functioning perfectly, but the lack of visual output is frustrating. I’m really seeking better guidance on how to address this recurring issue (if it’s truly common).

I tried removing the RAM and switching slots, even replacing the CMOS battery twice, but still couldn’t get the screen to work. The computer is functioning well overall, but the lack of visual output is troubling. I’m seeking advice on whether this issue is common and if there’s anything specific I should check. Please let me know if you’re using any GPUs—if so, verify that they are correctly installed in the slot. I previously faced the same problem but determined it was related to my GPU not being properly secured. Also, double-check the Sub-Forum post I referenced.
