Someone brought in an Asus desktop that switches on and off every five seconds. It's an older machine and was functioning properly until recently. The motherboard model is H11D-I/M32CD4/DP_MB. I checked the power supply and it seems fine. After disconnecting the hard drive and other peripherals, the PC would start working until turned off. Leaving it on for about three minutes, it restarts when powered back on. Using a compatible memory stick produced the same issue. I haven't noticed any signs of a failing stick, but I can't confirm its condition without testing. I'm inclined to think it's still working. The same problem occurs whether the memory is in the first slot or scattered across slots. Should I consider replacing the memory or is there a chance the motherboard is the issue? Since I live far from a fast food place, ordering parts might be inconvenient. There are no obvious clues on the board to suggest it's defective, but further testing would help.

Are there any visible signs on the motherboard that might indicate a problem? Look for any damaged, swollen, or leaking capacitors.
Not a repair shop in the sense you are thinking. I live in a farm/ranch community and was doing network and IT work. Farmers and ranchers call me when they have a problem because nearest repair is probably two hours away and if it is something I haven't seen I research.
It is an Asus m32cd-as51 I'm pretty sure was never registered and no real information on the Asus site.
I have a ATX Power Supply Tester. I could verify farther by putting in a power supply from another computer.
I've looked at the motherboard fairly close and don't see any noticeable damage.

It seems he was using it for internet access, which is likely why we're upgrading to version 11. I pulled his files from the hard drive and they were functioning well during the process, suggesting more issues may arise.
