Check your SSD using CrystalDiskInfo to review its condition. It may be failing, but unless you've been using resource-heavy apps, it's unlikely to be problematic after two years. My Latitude 5480 performed this test. It began with sporadic starts, then eventually would only boot into a black screen while the fan ran at full speed. Disconnecting the power or removing the battery didn't help. I used Dell's BIOS recovery tool to re-flash the BIOS from a USB drive, and everything has worked smoothly since. You can find your latest BIOS on the Dell support page by entering your laptop's service tag—it also confirms warranty status.

Thanks, my laptop isn’t covered by warranty. I’ll take it.

I attempted this but couldn't access the BIOS recovery even though my laptop was built after 2015

The laptop appears to start, but the screen is blank. You might need to attempt a reboot to resolve the issue. Anyone have suggestions?
