It barely reaches 80 degrees during gaming. I can run Resident Evil 2 (2019) at ultra graphics 900p with about 42 frames per second, but other games struggle on low settings—often starting at 1080p high and only managing 30 FPS after a few minutes.

It looks quite similar to a laptop design. They’re built for portability, not high performance. The CPU tends to get very hot, which is normal. I’m not sure repasting it will really help cool things down compared to letting air flow over the heat sink. Still, don’t just judge by comparing different models—make sure you’re using one with the same case, fan, and heatsink setup as your current one.

Additionally, players often experience inconsistent performance on these titles, especially when fans are active. I’ve seen my frame rate drop from around 48 FPS in PES 21 under moderate fan loads to just 50+ FPS once they reach full speed. This pattern repeats in Rise of the Tomb Raider, where high settings start smoothly but become challenging at lower resolutions after a few minutes. It’s unclear if this trend will aid in resolving the issue, but it seems fans are affected similarly.

I tried GTA V on low settings at 900p and only managed around 30 frames per second. Others on the same machine played it at high 1080p and got about 40 fps. Not sure what’s affecting your Minecraft CPU performance.

Choose the specific charts instead of Intel

The system runs smoothly on Nvidia with the GPU functioning, but could the slow CPU be impacting game performance?

It would work nicely. Check hwinfo64 to observe frequency, temperatures, and voltages.
