Hello All,
My Inspiron 7373 keeps turning on during the night. I turned off hibernate but set sleep to one hour. The screensaver is also set for ten minutes. The laptop is connected to a Dell WD15 dock via USB-C, with the monitor, keyboard, and mouse plugged in. The external display activates automatically without any user action. I’m unsure which settings need adjusting.

The screen appears to activate automatically without user input. Would you like me to test Keyboard Tester to check for random key presses, and also investigate if the trackpad cursor shifts slightly? Additionally, could you confirm whether your laptop shows any pending BIOS updates?

This occurs after I go to bed. No one interacts with the mouse or keyboard. I suspect it's related to Windows waking up the laptop. I've confirmed all drivers are updated via Dell Driver Update. The keyboard is new and clean—it's a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse combo.

We recently purchased a Precision 5560 for one of our team members to work remotely. I configured it not to shut down or sleep when connected, but after about ten minutes of inactivity the screen would turn off. I suspected a strange issue with Windows, but upon returning home, he noticed it had powered down while making dinner and came back on as he approached. He mentioned that Dell likely uses this feature for motion detection to conserve power. I’m curious if this relates to California’s computer energy regulations.
